Kaetlyn
By Kenneth Kesner
aimee stands lost in her thoughts again
at a gate at the side of a road
she turns round she takes notes
it’s everything you want to know
all of a sudden it’s all in your head
aimee looks at herself now
she wakes up inside your latest dream
and I can’t get any sleep
I laugh at losing myself in the notes
guess I’ve gotten out of hand
it’s time to fade into the crowd
their looks tell you what to think
her smile’s finding a street you never go
you stop to read her photograph
she’s on the phone
talks to ghosts you want to leave alone
everyone’s waiting to disappear and
I’m just throwing stones
