The Pond
By Jason de Koff
Golden strands of expectant life,
undulating on the silent streams of unseen atmosphere,
the liquid life elixir full of life itself ripples across its mirrored surface,
silver silken strands of ether rain down bringing mineral and moisture,
through vortices of magic vapor.
Muffled musings from multitudes bring forth the song,
quenched only by the ululations of nearby forest fauna,
burnished fire that squints the eye,
falls unshielded by dancing figures that float the sky.
Gnarled skin reaches upward,
becoming twisted arms of vanquished nightmares,
those laced in green bestowed with the mystic life,
of organic gowns for ethereal celebrations,
inhaling scents passed through generations,
to create the blend of now.
The vastness of place,
rooted in a saturation of association,
traversing unceasing,
round the axis of origin,
prescribes a fallout of messages,
to build the bread crumb boulevard,
highlighting our dusty existence,
to cosmic denizens.
